Don’t just Survive, Thrive! Creating a Personal Mission Statement

We write Mission Statements for our organizations, maybe even our departments.  However, the most important Mission Statement is the one you write for yourself.  What is your purpose, your passion, your vision?  How does it fit in with your chosen career or job?  Having a Personal Mission Statement can help you weather the tough times and thrive in the best.

Everything is Project Management

Project management is getting your work done, satisfying yourself, your colleagues, and your institutional and community library customers. When you are asked to do more than you have time and resources for, how can you make hard choices to meet deadlines and quality standards?

Jim Burack

Presentation will be an overview of the Colorado marijuana framework and where MED sits in that structure.  We'll briefly cover licensing, industry overview across the state, field enforcement and the MED inventory tracking system, and finally a summary of MED's range of administrative and criminal sanctions for violations.

Laura Altobeli

Laura Altobelli serves as a board member and legislative speaker for a cannabis council, is a criminal justice teacher at Westwood College, and is a background investigator for various police and fire departmentsShe will host an interactive forum to think and talk about how we talk about freedom and substance use and abuse in our society.  We say we don’t care if someone uses cannabis, but do we care if someone goes to prison for using cannabis? Do we care if someone manufactures cannabis products or distributes cannabis?  What do we think about our children using cannabis and our children using alcohol?  Where does medical use for cannabis fit in with freedom?  What do we mean by open market and what do we have now?  And what are all of these private prisons for, anyways?  A thought provoking and lively discussion about where we have been, where we are now, and where do we want to go next?
