Awesome Library - K-12 Education Directory
The Awesome Library is a regularly updated site that organizes your exploration of the World Wide Web with 12,000 carefully reviewed resources. Arranged in subject areas, with some annotated, but not all. Includes resources, and reference items for each type of user: Teachers, Kids, Teens, Parents, Librarians, and Community.

American Library Association 700 Best sites for Kids and Parents
This ALA provides reviewed links to 700 URL's for kids, parents, librarians, and teachers. It is arranged by subject area, including: Arts and Entertainment , Literature and Language, People Past and Present, Planet Earth and Beyond, Science and Technology. Also has a section about evaluating websites for kids.

Fairrosa Cyber-Library of Children's Literature
GRADE LEVEL: 6-8, 9-12
The Fairrosa Cyber Library is a collection of Internet resources related to children's literature on the Internet. Most of the information is geared toward older viewers. While not a large site, the information here is organized and quite useful for English, literature, and elementary educators. Librarians would also find the site helpful.

KidsConnect / ICONnect
KidsConnect is a question-answering, help and referral service to K­12 students on the Internet. The goal of the service is to help students access and use the information available on the Internet effectively and efficiently. KidsConnect is a component of ICONnect, a technology initiative of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL). Also includes a curriculum-oriented list of recommended sites for libraries and schools.

Education World, the Educator's Complete Resource Guide to the Internet
Offers education professionals, parents, students, and administrators a place where they can start each day to find the lesson plans and research materials they are looking for. This site is updated weekly with fresh new lesson plans and curriculum ideas, articles on issues that are of interest to educators, and much more. Family Education Network
Family Education Network contains information and resources that help make stronger connections between parents and their children's schools. The site has tons of articles about everything from child development, learning disabilities, and national education trends, to local articles about what's going on in the schools in your community.

Library in the Sky (Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory)
The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory is one of ten national educational research and development organizations supported by the U.S. Department of Education to improve education. Users will find training for mathematics, science, and technology education. Viewers can read details on programs created to deal with specific needs of regional locations.

Rethinking Schools Online
Rethinking Schools is an activist education publication, with articles written by and for teachers, parents, and students. It addresses classroom practices, educational theory, and key policy issues such as vouchers and marketplace-oriented reforms, funding equity, and school-to-work programs.


Little Planet Times
The Little Planet Times is a newspaper written by and for kids. This section was created as an online children's newspaper, written by kids. This is a good source for ideas for classes developing an Internet project or starting a student newspaper.
